This is a short video to show a bit of the Oblivion Graphics Extender project, of which I take no part in whatsoever except as an enthusiastic fan and avid supporter. All pertinent information, including the wonderful technomagicians responsible for this work, can be found on the official Oblivion Graphics Extender thread on the Bethesda Softworks forum.

This video shows the OBGEv2 plugin for OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender), highlighting the godrays plugin with some of the other fantastic shaders in the project.

It's visible in the vid when I have the celshade+AA modified to run the AA because there are no longer black lines around the objects, and when it is running in standard celshade mode (because you see the lines).

The last clips are done with vanilla textures, as well.

I'm running them on the flipside of a 2009 quad-core Mac Pro in Windows XP.

The video was taken with fraps, compressed through virtualdub with the xvid mpeg-4 codec, and then edited in Pinnacle.

There are also a whole lot of mods in the video, but they're not the point. The point is the effects.

Once again, if there are any mistakes, they lie all on my end and have nothing to do with the Technomages responsible for making their wonderful works.

Thanks to Bethesda, thanks to the Technomages responsible for these creations, and thanks to the Nexus for bringing them together.

Credit where credit is due! First saw the weapon-in-the-rays in MouthofSaurons' great Oblivion Sunset vid. I am just jumping on the band wagon with my axe! Clever man.

  • a little to much cell shading (outline)

  • @gamezonic, it's all highly modifiable in-game, so you can do what you want with it (even the thickness of the outline)

  • The only problem with is, i'd find myself just standing looking at the scenery more then actually playing.

  • @Leglesspooch, and the problem would be?... : )

  • i have obge v2 and i dont see godrays wtf?

  • @Saturnclass, could be the support plugin. You might have to write up a shaderlist.txt and add the shader manually. Happens at times. Godrays is the most peculiar in that regard.

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis its incredibly sad people speak like this about a game. why dont you just go out to the countryside more?

  • Does it take up more cpu power?

  • the graphics are so nice and the music too t makes just want to go in there!!!

  • lol the armor sounds like its eating

  • /watch?v=3u8XygjpFto checkout my modded oblivion in 1080p

  • i love godrays especially in games like these where you have vast eviorments and it fits right in

  • Now THAR'S a sun to get you sunburned!

Seriously, I love Godrays Shader Plugin, possibly the most realistic sun to get with casted shadows from objects.

  • + Skyrim = Where's my penis?
