@Aldiggy2000 Easy over a period of time you talk to it and acknowledge it. Within weeks or months it will get used to you and will soon trust you to where you can go near him or her. If you whistle to it and talk to the bird in a gentle tone of voice it will come closer and if your lucky you can hand tame it

@elevenames youre missing the point here....my point is do not clip your birds' wings, and be very careful when outside with your bird(s) - they are easy prey for bigger birds, magpies, lorikeets, mynahs to name just a few. Should one of these birds attack your bird, I find it very hard to believe that your bird would have the foresight to fly to YOU....it's not called flight or fright for a reason.

@gregm42 oh ok well then after 3 years of my un-clipped bird flying to ME when shes startled, ill just clip her wings and lock her up in a cage because somebody on youtube told me to do so. awesome, thanks.

@elevenames actually ...no - whether your bird loves your or not is irrelevant. In the case of a bird not having its wings clipped (no bird should have them clipped IMO), if the bird is startled or scared, it will take off - (flight or fright remember ?) whether you think it loves you or not.

If your bird does have its wings clipped, then it will have greater difficulty flying away. If you get your bird's wings clipped, it is more likely to be food for other predators, so be aware.

You have a beautiful bird! I have a grey named Sam. I also have Joker; a white face cinnamon pearl/pie split. I love my birds so much! They are great companions!

if your bird really loves you, it would never want to fly away, thats why people are so easily able to take their pet birds out side.
