SCOTCH ON THE ROCKS - Someone wants to get his greedy paws on Lovejoy's old Scottish sword--but why? Lovejoy investigates and discovers it holds the key to hidden treasure. But the treasure won't be easy to find-- it's buried beneath a supermarket
The focal sword in this episode is certainly not a true claymore. Nor is it the 18th century basket hilted backsword which is often incorrectly called a "claymore" today, and forms a part of Scots dress, military and civilian.

I don't recall webcams, touch-screen monitors, or 21st-century graphics programs on 386 processor machines of the early 90s :P

the "CLAYMORE" pun:
"Clef D'or" is French for "Golden Key".
Scottish Gaelic "claidheamh mòr", means "great sword".
The episode implies that the British pronounce them all the same.
