  • Very good question... We have done both as well... but I prefer that homeowners are not present at most cases..THHS like to have only investigators there...We had a case where owner never stopped talking... We have learned from that experience so it won't happen again...

  • we have done both. the clients sometime don't want to be there. i agree that sometimes having a member of who is living at the location there is sometimes advantagous, but we've found we get lots of possible evidence, and even capture EVP's that give answers to the owners questions they had when getting in touch with us. also, the less people, the less contamination. good question, tony.

  • We sometimes have one family member stay behind. It really depends on the situation.

  • Also I wouldn't feel right being in someones home without them being there.

  • My team and i haven't been fortunate enough to investigate a private residence, however if we would, I would have the family stay in the house. Reasons being, someone in the family might be drawing the spirits out. I would centralize the family in one room, like the kitchen and have a member of my team sit with them, not only to make the family feel comfortable about having strangers in their house but also to see if the spirit has a liking to someone in the family.
