Jo Joyner ///// Since arriving on EastEnders in 2006, Jo Joyner as Tanya Branning has been at the heart of the action in Albert Square and has had a wide scope of storylines; the episode in which the character of Tanya discovered her husband Max Branning's affair with Stacey Slater was watched by 21.9 million people. It was the highest rated television broadcast of 2007 and went on to be nominated for a BAFTA Award and Jo, the storyline and the episode were awarded at the 2008 British Soap Awards. It was nearly as well-received as the Ricky/Bianca wedding which drew in 22 million people. Joyner was born in Essex but grew up near Banbury in Oxfordshire. Her parents are Anne and Peter, and she has an older brother, Dan. Joyner lives in London with her husband, actor Neil Madden. They married on 14 July 2007 and currently share a home in London. In 2008, she told internet users that she did not have any Facebook, MySpace or Bebo accounts when it was revealed that people were posing as her online and posting false information. Joyner announced in July 2009 that she is pregnant with twins.
Madeline Duggan ///// It was announced in May 2006 that she would be playing Lauren Branning in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She first appeared on screen on 3 July 2006. As Lauren Branning on EastEnders, Madeline has worked closely with the actors Jo Joyner (Tanya Branning), Jake Wood (Max Branning), Lorna Fitzgerald (Abi Branning), Charlie Clements, (Bradley Branning), Scott Maslen (Jack Branning), Melissa Suffield (Lucy Beale), Thomas Law (Peter Beale), June Brown (Dot Branning) and John Bardon (Jim Branning). Madeline was part of the affair storyline in Christmas 2007 between her father and sister in law Stacey. As Lauren, she is best friends with Lucy Beale, thinks Abi is annoying and is seeing Peter Beale after he confessed his love for her when she came out of care.
Lorna Fitzgerald ////// Through her agent, she heard about the role in BBC One soap opera EastEnders, and went to the BBC Studios in London for the first of three auditions. She was cast as Abi Branning, making her first appearance in 2006. As Abi, she is best friends with Ben Mitchell. On set, her best friend is Madeline Duggan who plays her on-screen sister. Ironically, in EastEnders, the two sisters argue and disagree all the time!
