Jr Digital Studio Tribute to Steely Dan. A fan of 3+ decades I am.
When music was music. In the days of the Doobie Brothers, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and on and on...it was about the music...and it was about what you sounded like, not what you looked like. Now its like its done a flip flop..its what you look like now, not what you sound like...talent is not needed in todays "music" if you can call it that..The days of the FM band has disapered. When black eyed peas 'My Humps " is considered a grammy nominee...that tells me most of the music today has gone to hell in a handbasket...like im going to fire up my nice audio system to kick back and listen to that...right....... I was living in the right time musically from the 60s to 80s .but now Im living in the wrong time, musically speaking.......for those of you born to late, here is a taste of the real music you missed, .Don and Walter, hope this brings a tear to your eyes.thanks..

The attention to detail, the best studio musicians of the time, yes actual musicians who perform in varying genres, still leaders in the music industry.

Allot of things are missing in todays music. Talent, harmonies, hell accual singing, and people playing, not something that sounds so purposly like nothing more than a casio drum machine. ,, please, before I die can we get back to that? or is the music industry going to continue to dish todays boring crap to kids?
When we were kids we were listening to this, Whered taste go!!! ??

Nice homage. Real music, written and performed by real musicians, is still produced, unfortunately, it's not available on commercial radio, one has to seek it out now. We were so lucky to have been exposed to it incidentally. Nice work here, thanks again.

I totally agree with isdomdee above , no thanks a Trillion to the power of Dan! I saw them 4 years ago in NZ and they were great , and saw them again in Napier NZ , their 63rd and last concert , Fantastic.

I'm in the early 30, so this music was before my time.In the late 70' they sure have made the best music ever.Only Diana Krall can reach the same range these days.

@raggabass I respect your opinion, but must correct a wrong fact: their music was NOT the norm in their times. NOBODY was doing what they did. The climate back then (late 70's) was mostly hard rock, reggae, punk, disco... The way they melded sophisticated jazz harmonies within a pop-rock context was truly original then.

I also like Devo, however obsolete they may sound to some...
