Mike Tyson's punch-out, 1st round knockout, PROOF IT CANNOT BE DONE

I got sick of seeing a bunch of cheaters using game genie and claiming they knocked out Mike Tyson in the 1st round, then saying all sorts of garbage about "I used the 'proper punch' technique" or the delayed punch technique." Folks, it's crap. Here's a near perfect 1st round against tyson (I miss 4 punches total) using the "proper counter" technique and the delayed punch technique. He doesn't even go down twice. I would've knocked him down twice probably had I not missed those 4 punches, but there's no way to stretch he would've gone down 3 times. Also, if you look at other purported knockout videos, they always knock Iron Mike down before 1:15 while he's still throwing uppercuts. I'm perfect minus 1 punch in that window and I'm not even close to knocking him down. All the other videos are using cheats. Argue that, suckers!

@Hdudbd Dude, Nintendo is fucking responsible for you having videogames at all nowadays... Atari and the others before that overwhelmed the market so much with the same crap that no one was paying any attention to videogames anymore, until Nintendo came and saved the day with this very console. Read the story of videogames and you'l see what I'm talking about. You should be blowing nintendo's dick instead of calling it gay...

@pmarso316 No, it can't. I'm an expert in this game, I can go through the entire game withoiut being touched even, I can beat Super Macho Man in the first round, and hit Tyson every single time... I've knocked Tyson twice in the first round, but when he gets up, he's life bar is full and the timer only has like 5 seconds to go. Also, it's impossible to win by KO, it has to be TKO with Tyson. I've tried to get a KO, by knocking him down twice on each round and nothing... he still gets up!!!

@checkfate Dude, Mike Tyson's Punch Out existed in a time long before you had dedicated walkthroughs for video games. Yeah, Nintendo Power would give you hints, but Punch Out was all about timing and instinct. There's no such thing as a walkthrough for that. It's because of this fact that kids who grew up playing NES games are much less likely to be pussies compared to today's generation.

I consider myself a Punch Out buff, and have beaten him several times. There is no way to knock him out in the first round, KO or TKO, without some form of emulator/game genie cheating.

you are right. And if you notice, each time Tyson hits you, it takes away red hearts. I have not played the game in so long, I forget if it does that with other boxers, but all in all; you are definately at a huge "disadvantage" facing Tyson already. Nice job thanks for sharing.
