A little odd that you chose to use traditional grip instead of matched, considering that you are a protege of Mr. Beckham and that you have spent most of your career as a tenor drummer. The Beckham influence shines through.

This was part of a video I sent in as an audition for the Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps. (I was invite to D.C., but they ultimately selected someone else.) They require traditional grip, so that's why I played traditional here. I admit that my traditional is somewhat stiff in this video. I've practiced a lot more since the taping, and I've started turning my wrist a lot more for a more natural look (plus it takes away the need to lean to the left). Still, it's a fun solo to play.

Sorry to hear that I didn't work out for you. Do you plan to try again?

Yes, definitely. I learned a lot from the first audition. I've been practicing, and I know I've already improved a lot in the fife drumming style. Wonderful people at the Old Guard who all seemed to love what they do and doing it well. I would love to be a part of it.
