Point Blank is a 1967 crime film directed by John Boorman and starring Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson, adapted from the classic pulp novel The Hunter by Donald E. Westlake, writing as Richard Stark. Boorman directed the film at Marvin's request and Marvin played a central role in the film's development and staging

  • I loved this movie. In my opinion, the most important 1960's movie (Leonard Maltin pushes it futher by calling "Point Blank" of the best movies of the decade) just as, say, "Fatal Attraction" is the most important 1980's film. The one thing that struck me was how much it compared to the David Cromberg film "A History of Violence"; especially how William Hurt's character compared to Carroll O' Connor's character Brewster.
