I have an extensive library of the sounds this thing used, unfortunately I can't seem to find them so I can transfer this to Reason 4 or Logic. What is the mallet/metal hit and snare used??
Look inside the Fairlight. It should have Blue Weaver 01-994-1284 in indelible pen there somewhere. Don't forget there was also the other sequence paying another 8 tracks plus some live.
Further to my comment below, see the video "Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities Live Whistle Test 1986" by dvdborn to see this sequence and its companion in action. Also, look out for the comment from Blue Weaver (presumably the previous owner of this Fairlight) about the Whistle Test performance.
Fantastic! I've always loved the PSB's Whistle Test performance. I remember the buzz at the time caused by the presence of TWO Fairlights on stage. I also heard stories about the whole setup being somewhat flakey and generally adding to the nervousness of Neil and Chris.
The Fairlight is by far the most beautiful sounding vintage "synthesizer" ever made. Lucky you.
