im an american as well, and ive been toying around with afew old guitars myself. saw youre video, great idea, reversing the polarity and nice playing as well. ive been trying to think of afew ways to beef up the tone while playing through distortion. id like to up the output and raise the noise reduction in the loop and maybe get a nice heavy tone. "dime it" if you will, been thinking about afew diff ways, got any ideas?

You are an awesome guitar player.

First, I'm an American and I love your accent. I don't want to seem like the culturally-shocked American, but I love it.
Also, I don't think I've ever seen anyone having that much fun playing the guitar like you. Just sayin'.

@BritaniaRuleAgain Yeah GOOD question! LOL!

Very nice chops dude! Mod sounds good, but it would have been a LOT easier to just add a switch and reverse the wiring to reverse the phasing! But good job!

Why do you have a PRS guitar and a small solid state amplifier?
Personally I don't see the point of using my valve amp on a video formatted for youtube. It may be easier to do the wiring mod but you don't quite get the same effect. I have since fitted a switch that puts it back in phase though, for versatility. Thanks

I did something similar to my Mustang, tho I did not do such a physical modification to disassemble the pickup.
I wired my pickups to a potentiometer to reverse the phase of the whole pickup. It decreased the output of the pickup however, much as you describe and show.
It does make for a unique tone / sound tho. Much thinner, but by adjusting the pot, I can manipulate the phase. I did it to a hotrail pickup.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed listening to your riffs too. :D

@FUNCLEJ0E Cheers mate :) like the sound of your mod, I've since added a toggle to switch mine in and out. I was thinking having a switch for series/parallel would be good as having them out of phase makes it thinner but putting them in series at the same time would really beef it up. Be interesting to try...
