In June, leaders of the world's eight wealthiest countries will meet in Germany for the annual G8 Summit. At the same time, eight young people from Québec City will head to Germany to represent the voice of Canadian youth and meet with their peers from around the world as part of the Junior 8 Summit. Issues they will discuss include: economic development in Africa, HIV/AIDS, climate change, intellectual property rights and corporate social responsibility. Their solutions will be presented to the G8 leaders by eight J8 delegates from around the world.
The J8 is an initiative of UNICEF and the Morgan Stanley International Foundation that aims to strengthen the voice of youth, give them an opportunity to influence world leaders and build a youth movement around G8 issues.
