  • Chief Seattle, knew a great unspoiled country he had, the scourge of the white man was upon him, promises made by lairs and cheats, thieves just to name a few choice words, the land he knew would evaporate before his very eyes vnvhe Osceola.

  • This narration was part of a longer video called "State of Emergency" during a time when mass amounts of forest were being clear-cut in Alaska. The video is not accessible. IT's in Alaska.

    Thanks once again my friend

  • Alaska is the land of my dreams, I love it.

  • jahbenders, you are mistaken, he said those words many times over and over, yes it's true that a white reporter claimed it was so but then again there were no tape recorders so you really don't know for sure what he said but he was a vwery wise and eloquent man!

  • Nice words, but that's not what Chief Seattle said. His words were edited by a reporter/writer when he spoke them. They were then edited several times around 1900. Finally, they were severely edited by a screenwriter in the 70s.

  • The earth does not belong to us and we do belong to earth!
