As requested.

Here's the footage of Desire as shown on the UK TV version of the LOVETOWN documentary in1989.

This footage wasn't included on many other countries broadcast of the documentary.

I've started the clip at the point Hawkmoon 269 ends and ended it where Watchtower begins with Larry drumming.

The footage includes interview segments - but personally, I think it would've been great to get a full audio version of the song without the interruptions :)

Anyway, enjoy!

  • I've never heard Edge play like that... wow. His guitar solos during this tour were incredible. Just listen to this, All Along the Watchtower, and One Tree Hill.

  • here you can see why u2 is the best rock group in the world and EDGe the best guitar of the universe

  • In interviewer is cute. :3

  • @dingopinguino The Edge?!!?!?!?! LOL....

Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin, Al di Meola, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Jan Akkerman, Stochelo Rosenberg, Bireli Lagrene, Angelo Debarre, Tchavolo Schmitt, John Scofield, Paul Masdival, Buckethead, the list is endless.

Search for vids of these names and you might actually see some real guitarmasters for the first time (apparantly) in your life.

As for U2, mediocre musicians with an excellent marketing team. But still nice.

  • Betty 2:36 so beautiful :D

  • who is the girl interviewer?

  • agreed awesome version. but looking at U2's history i wouldn't be surprised if they possibly thought of Patti Smith's version of 'wanna be a RnR star' - either way, i never heard Desire performed by them so good.

For the trainspotters: Bono's comment 'everyone gets out here alive' during the song refers to a bomb scare the venue received prior to the show.

  • Electrifying version with a nice nod to the Byrds

  • Not true, he said it because there had been a bomb scare prior to the show and the crowd had to leave in a panic...

  • loved edge ripping it haha. too bad we didn't get to see larry's cadence..

  • I´ve never listen this version of Desire before in the Lovetown Tour. Amazing, chears, Luiz

  • 2:12 "Let me tell ya, EVERYBODY hets outta here ALIVE!"

Dare he go again dat Bono wit da Old Timey Gospel Hour stuff...He said it cuz The Doors movie was makin big business at that time and the log-line to that was "Nobody gets out of here alive"
