The accelerated rate of glacial melting around the world could lead to sea level rise of as much as five feet during this century. If the oceans rise just three feet, it will cover close to half the rice land in Bangladesh affecting the rice harvest that feeds more than 150 million people. That will translate into the displacement of tens of millions of people, who will be forced to migrate to overcrowded cities like Dhaka or across political boundaries into other countries like neighboring India.

Once considered an inexhaustible source of food, the oceans are now in danger of being significantly depleted. Matt Damon hosts "The State of the Planet's Oceans" as award-winning filmmakers Hal and Marilyn Weiner investigate the health and sustainability of the world's oceans and the issues affecting marine preserves, fisheries, and coastal ecosystems worldwide.
