Maria Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 August 1, 2009) was a President of the Philippines and a world-renowned advocate of democracy, peace, women's empowerment, and religious piety. She served as the 11th president of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of the Philippines and was Asia's first female president. Mrs Aquino died on August 1, 2009 after suffering from colon cancer.

A self-proclaimed "plain housewife", Aquino was married to Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. (19321983), a leading figure in the political opposition against the autocratic rule of President Ferdinand Marcos. After her husband was assassinated upon his return from exile in the United States on August 21, 1983, Aquino, who had no prior political experience, became a focal point and unifying force of the opposition against Marcos. She was drafted to run against Marcos in the 1986 snap presidential elections. After Marcos was proclaimed the winner despite widespread reports of electoral fraud, Aquino was installed as President by the peaceful 1986 People Power Revolution.

  • @vinseeuri

your talking bullshit... cory was an incompetent president. walang na gawa para sa bayan...

the only thing that made her famous were the propagandas.

  • I'm proud to support the Marcos's!

  • mrpieces20, I don't know what triggered u to get upset on my opinion. Just do respect other's comment. Thank u 4 considring us(OFWs) as Bayanis. Unfortunately these bayanis are taken advantage of some airport personnels in NAIA and other gov't dept. We r entitled on our own opinion & respect is only being asked to those people who don't like them. Hopefully u can fight for the new BAYANIs ur talking about. It's pity that they are taken advantage all the time...peace...

  • but dont worry have ressurection

  • Thanks Ms. Jaquelyn08 for all of this vid of kris..... We love you mam cory.......and also kris .....

  • If there are persons to be proud of as Filipino, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino is one of them.

But for me, as Filipino here in abroad she's 99 million miles away from any other persons to be proud of as Filipino.

She is the only person who makes me say that the Philippines is still my country.

I'm comparing her with Mother Theresa. She could be a hero, saint and international model of mothers which is she is.

Thanks to all her children for letting her served our country, The Philippines.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this clips all over the world. I am very Proud of Cory and her family. All over the world...filipinos are mourning with the bereaved family...but Kris would atleast help us to accept the fact. Cory, we love you, God loves you...YOU WILL REST IN PEACE WITH OUR BELOVED NINOY! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

  • thanks jaquelyn08 for these videos, i hav no tfc and here in australia, sa trabaho we dont talk about cory - none of my fellow pinoys were in philippines during edsa but i was... cory is my president, i am so proud i voted for her and was able to experience her in my life...as a president, a mother and a lola...you have been blessed in your life, but we are also blessed to have had u, filipinos should be proud, foreigners might not appreciate but we filipinos should at least be proud of her
