I have an old male labrador... i trained him and he thinks of me as the head of the pack. Will it be a good idea to bring a 2 month old female akita to my home?

I have two akitas(one pure Japanese, and one pure American). They're both about 6 years old and are great around people, but become very aggressive around other dogs. I've taught them to sit and stay when other dogs approach them, but know that if i let them they would easily kill another dog.(one already has) Any tips? and are they too old to get that behavior out of them?

@samstterhamstteer LOL, Chihuahua are feisty! :) I think their cute and okay dogs for people who have alot of space, but have and always will have large dogs. My aunt gets pushes around by hers all the time, but she spoiled them so only she can fix the situation.

I had a bad time with my akita mix at the start when I adopted her because the people before hadn't done any training (leash or otherwise) with her at 6 months old. She's now 9 years old and I love her but if you don't start training early it is VERY hard to break them of certain habits.

the only thing i trained my 2 akitas to do was not bite people in high vis jackets to eat drink and go in the kennel when their told thats all i really needed from them if i am their they will not attack any one unless they know i am in danger and i got saber when he was 5 and clio when she was 8 and both have being nothing but nice dogs but if u ask the previous owner they are aggressive dangerous and need putting down

@mirandamiranda3 And one more thing , '' be extremely vigilant and train them or they will dominate you?'' tell me what dog in this world would not do that if you dont watch them or train them. Iv seen women get punked by a half pound chihuahua before its an animal at the end of the day and we as humans should be smart enough to be able to train them dont you think? im wrong maybe your not
