I like writing songs/lyrics too, but I'm not sure I could complete your song. I don't know your mind well enough yet to try that. I ***love*** PF but agree with dogatron's advice to you; let your style come from you, not an emulation of anyone else. (If you're just getting started in music, then go with whatever comes out and let your musical self evolve over time.) I would add though that there's a long, esteemed tradition of "borrowing" in pop music. ;-}
Finally, if you're gonna write lyrics then try harder than what they'd expect at a pre-drum circle poetry slam. Your videos are usually intelligent and complex which leads me to believe that you could do more than settling for your bronze certificate hippie song leader badge. P.S. listen to Tripping Daisy - Jesus Hits Like The Atom Bomb, synchronicity seems to follow that band around a lot.
no no no. pink floyd=bad. generic chord changing songs should be confined to song leading hippies at summer camps. if you're going to sing try find your own style instead of trying to sound like dave gilmour. Pretty much everyone does it when starting out because music is so huge that people prefer to just fit in and emulate rather than try something new and stand out.
We are blind to the shape of the world around us because we are not truly conneted with ourselves in order to find the true connection with each other.
I agree, i used to like pink floyd but it got all too boring .. check out my channel i have some great tunes there .. especially bardo pond

leave "the board" out. just use "every piece has it's place" the word board seems out of place or harsh or something... just a sugest.
God Bless

or a computer screen, were stacked
A tower of babel would rise, closer to
the word and away from the world
