the Acela Mail Handling cars in the new paint sceme, do they make those in HO?
techphy100 2 years ago
I imagine they do--they came out in HO first. I Googled the search term "material handling car" "phase 5" HO (including the quote marks) and came up with about 45 matches. I didn't look through them, but I'd suspect your best bet would to start with Walthers.

how good's the horn looping on your P42? I'm considering buying PS2 for one of my HO scale P40's.

I haven't really tried blowing any long blasts that would reveal any issues with the recording on this one.
I should point out that this particular unit is a Proto-1 loco. The dummy unit is from later production, but the powered one is first-gen.
Also keep in mind that Protosound 2 requires the use of a tach reader on the motor. I don't know how MTH achieves this on their HO engines as of yet, but on O Gauge locos it's a striped tape wrapped around the motor flywheel.

are those bowser roadrailers or kline?
Is that really how long three rivers is? Wow
GavinSimmons 3 years ago
They are Bowser roadrailers (now made by Weaver). The K-Line ones (I have some) are actually "RailMate" trailers. They're a little-known knockoff of the Roadrailer that uses single-axle trucks between the trailers.
The Three Rivers, as far as I know, may well be even longer than what I did, but I only had four MTH Amfleets in Phase III stripes (the rest are Northeast Direct), and I was pushing the limits of what the test track can handle.
