I feel it is better to pump up the lifter with a pushrod in a drill press. The lifter must be entirely immersed in oil. When all micro-bubbles have been squeezed out, it is time to install the lifter and commence the rocker 'tension' adjustment. The vaccum guage wil tell you when the preload is excessive. But if you have $1000.00's to spend on a motor, do it the 'right' way.
