Hawaii Warriors vs.New Mexico State Aggies 2009 Football (Warrior Recap)

Coming off a huge win at home versus Utah State and capturing that first elusive conference win, the University of Hawaii Warriors were looking to make it 2 straight against the Aggies, this time the New Mexico State Aggies.

Both teams coming in at 3 and 6 overall with Hawaii leading the all-time series 5-0 and winning by an average of 18 points. Hawaiis run and shoot offense came out firing on all cylinders and like their last game, Hawaii came out strong establishing their running game first. At the end of the first half it was 17-0 Hawaii. Both defenses played strong, but Hawaii proved to stronger on the night than the Aggies, the final score from aloha stadium, Hawaii 24, NMS 6.

A good win for Hawaii, but the bigger story at the end of the game besides was Hawaiis Defense holding the Aggies offense scoreless. Lead by Linebackers RJ Kiesel-Kauhane and Blaze Soares and also Cornerbacks Kawika Ornellas and Mana Silva. All playing tough, all contributing to the shutout. New Mexico State's only score was a 58 yard interception returned for a TD.

A new winning streak for the Warriors have begun, but more importantly back 2 back wins in conference play. Hawaiis next opponent and their last road game, San Jose State next Saturday 11-21-09 at Spartan Stadium, kickoff at 8PM PST, Go Warriors!
