Yeah they are sort of cute....but being near one of New Zealands largest Kauri(big tree) forests, and knowing the damage they do to our native(and unique) wild life, The only reason I feed them is to get a better shot at them!! Sorry to spoil the old wildlife/nature thing you have going on .

Well, they want to live too. :o) It's humans who introduced them there. There must be some other way as killing will result in more killing.

Thank you. Same female is still living in the garage and is expecting third baby since the one you saw her with in this video. :o)

There is lots of mangoes around here this season so she is busy feeding at night.

I understand. You must have a really good reason for saying so. Where are you located? They are considered pest in New Zealand. Well, not for everybody though :o)

Well right now,, my family and i are trying to kill a possum because its eating our chickens...but let me tell you,, its nowhere as cute as these possums... im from south texas by the way, so maybe they look diff. then these type, i suppose...

Here's a suggestion. If you could import the possums from New Zealand back to Australia, less possums to worry about in New Zealand, and raise the population in other parts of Australia. I looked up things on possums... I'm actually Canadian... :)

I live in New zealand, and this is my understanding of how the possums came to us.

The Russians were purchasing alot of possum fur for their coats from Australia, and they were making good profit from it, So the kind Aussies gave us a few possums. They bred and bred and bred, they bred so much that we couldn't keep track of them, and then they basically got loose, and now we have millions of them :)

I have no problem with this. If they're an introduced pest, they should be dealt with accordingly.

Thanks for this Rado. I understand though that possums do best eating mainly leaves, roots and only a little bit of apple. They are in dire shortage of habitat and like you say only want to live. The biggest pest is not possums but US HUMANS who have displaced most of the wildlife and driven the rest to extinction. Shooting them shows a total lack of compassion for their precious lives as animals have the same feelings as we humans do. Please give them a break!

They are so much cuter than the possums we have in New York :)
