This has happened a few times at my local Ski Resort (CO) .. it was weird as hell... also we hv gotten snowflakes that were all balled up and slightly hard (not like hale though because it wasnt ice... it was soft but heavy)

it is not fake. i come from Atlantic Canada and I have seen much bigger snowflakes. It isn't all the time, but once a year we get huge flakes.
