What is humanism in medicine? What does it look like and how is it encouraged? More than simply compassion, it is good medicine. This new video created for the Gold Foundation addresses these questions through compelling photographs and interviews with thought leaders, physicians in practice, medical students and patients.
This is absolutely it, yes, this is it! Humanity at its best!

How wonderful that Dr. Gold is still practicing medicine! I went to see him for tests in NYC back in about 1964. I was a student at Bennington College He discovered that I have a petite mal condition. I always have carried with me his caring and inspiring words of encouragement. I can still hear him, "Reach For the Stars, gal!" Thanks, Dr. Gold. You made a huge difference in my life. Love, Marian (from West Virginia, living in Austin with a lovely husband, children, & grandchildren)

This clip ibrought back a flood of memories from my childhood and experiences. In 1969 I was a sick little boy was cared for by Dr. Gold. He was unlike any other doctor I had met. He did not look at me as though I had some inner flaw but had a miraculous body that was not was doing what it was supposed to do. Today I have a PhD and second father in Dr. Gold. He changed my life for the better and made me the man I am today. He is a cherished friend, one who I think of each and every day.
