Malcolm Kendall-Smith is a Royal Air Force officer who refused to go to Iraq believing the war and occupation to be illegal. For this he was jailed.
This message was played to the audience of "A NIGHT OF CONSCIENCE" at St James' Church in London's Piccadilly, a fund raising benefit to help pay the £20,000 legal costs imposed on Malcolm.

  • You join the RAF on the understanding that you can be sent abroad to a warzone.

What does he expect the RAF to do ? take him on fecking Skiing holidays all the time ...

  • You signed up to do a job so go and bloody do it and stop wasting everyone's time and money.

  • There have been so many crimes against humanity under the usual excuse "I was simply following orders". Thank you for not being a Machine.. You are a brave man, keep your chin up. May God Bless Us All.

  • He could have shut up and taken his punishment but he tried to turn himself into the worlds least convincing marytr. Don't want to go to Iraq ? fine dont join the air force or if you do accept the consequences of your actions.

  • I would just to send my best wishes and hope that you have recovered from the ordeal that our rotten Government put you through. They will have disappeared but your honour and courage will endure.

  • Thank to God that there are still some people in the world with great honour, whatever their race, religion or colour is. I would be happy to shake his hand.

  • What a brave man Malcolm was; I mean, he volunteers for a job, and then, chickens out, forcing some other poor sod to go in his place; spouting and rambling incoherently, recycled babble from the Daily Mirror as an excuse.

    What a peuk!
