For many years now the American foreign policy has been characterized by the strong tie between the United States and Israel. Does the United States in fact keep Israel on its feet? And how long will it continue to do so? In March 2006 the American political scientists John Mearsheimer (University of Chicago) and Steve Walt (Harvard) published the controversial article 'The Israel Lobby and US foreign policy'. In it they state that it is not, or no longer, expedient for the US to support and protect present-day Israel. The documentary sheds light on both parties involved in the discussion: those who wish to maintain the strong tie between the US and Israel, and those who were critical of it and not infrequently became 'victims' of the lobby. The question arises to what extend the pro-Israel lobby ultimately determines the military and political importance of Israel itself. Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson (Colin Powell's former chief-of-staff) explains how the lobby's influence affects the decision-making structure in the White House.
With political scientist John Mearsheimer, neocon Richard Perle, lobby organization AIPAC, televangelist John Hagee, historian Tony Judt, Human Rights Watch director Kenneth Roth, colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, Democrat Earl Hilliard, Israeli peace negotiator Daniel Levy and investigative journalist Michael Massing.

  • It is so scary to see how my country is working with Israel to commit crimes against humanity. As Obama vetoes the Palestinian bid for statehood I am deeply ashamed. We, peaceful Americans who do not believe in occupation of other people's lands and creating wars for a pretext to steal natural resources must come together and take our country back and truly live under our constitutional beliefs that ALL men are created equal and pursuing life, liberty and happiness without causing others harm.

  • Fuck AIPAC and their dirty money...is that anti-semitic?

  • Richard Perle looks like he has death breath

  • @Caucasusdream At least they do not control the internet......although I'm sure they will try to figure out a way to manipulate it too but at the moment people can view all manner of videos on here and draw their own conclusions or make parallels to that of American news stories on what happens in Gaza etc.

  • @MrVillamike Jews still more or less rule most Western European nations though. They dominate the media and heavily influence finance, politics and academia. It is not native inhabitants who are pulling the strings in Britain, France, Sweden and so on. It is worse in America and Canada but very bad in Europe too.

  • @laserviking18 It is Dutch not German.

  • @iliaens7 Israel has absolutely no hold on European countries like it has over America.

  • ned ondertitels?

  • @francisco8104 they're not morons... well, not all of them, but they have a few.

The problem with them is that they are in denial and they can't accept they've been fooled by Israel to dance at their singing - maybe someday they'll realize that their rulers work for Israel and not for the American citizens and they'll change them.

  • @dkupke sounds like fanaticism... and they dare to accuse the Palestinians of being terrorists and bad people..... imagine the irony, the oppressor accusing the oppressed.
