djarm67, debates creationist Dr Steve Kumar in a live radio debate. "Dr" Kumar received his Ph.D in philosophical theology from the California Graduate School of Theology (an unaccredited organisation). He is the co-author of "Christianity for skeptics" along with fellow apologist John Heininger. Make sure that you watch both parts. You don't want to miss the end. In a live debate, you don't have the opportunity to take a timeout to research any points made by the other party. False. Duplication is new information. If you were writing down the difference between the original organism and the one with the duplication, you would have to write "this part was duplicated" or some shorthand for it. That is new information.

It is particularly relevant because armed with a second copy of the gene, one copy is free to change without destroying the function of the other copy.

The hilarious nature of evolutionism is revealed when its followers reach the conclusion, state as fact and "truth" that life formed itself naturally before any empirical proof or scientific test can be done. They form the conclusion then try and find facts, but all the discoveries of science show it CANNOT happen naturally.

There is no known law of nature, no known process and no known sequence of natural events which can cause specified information to originate by itself in matter. Therefore the origin of information must be non natural and non material. The concept of information is devastating to materialistic philosophy, always has been.

@djarm67 At 4:30 Kunar states "Henry Schaefer, who has been nominated for Nobel Prize many times..." Schaefer is an actual chemist. He is also a fellow at Discovery Institute, which has claimed, repeatedly, that he is a "five time Nobel nominee." The Nobel Prize Committee does not reveal the identity of nominees for 50 years after nomination.

Kunar and the Discovery Institute are lying in attempt to pump Schaefer's credentials. Schaefer allow it.

@Mr88playmaker I'll repeat again for you. I'm not asking you about information but nucleotides. Do you agree that the following can occur? Mutations occur in DNA which can result in insertions of new nucleotides, deletions of nucleotides and even entire sections of DNA can be duplicated.

Existing information can be duplicated but no new information is added because matter can not and does not assign meaning to symbols nor arrange them into language. The only source in the known universe for symbolic information / language is an intelligent source. Study your own argument. The answer is nigh, even upon your own lips: Duplication and Creation of information are two different things.
