Potassium metal is a very soft alkali metal ,It is easily cut with a knife and its very reactive.

In this video potassium metal is reacting with water to form potassium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. 2K(s) + 2H2O(l) → H2(g) + 2KOH(aq)

@DjGizzo in highschool my science teacher took alot of improperly stored potassium,and through it on our football field,it was winter.it had a massive explosion within seconds of contact with snow.Best teacher ever :D
