Discovered this surprising gem of a game when I bought this year's Humble Indie Bundle for Christmas. I didn't expect it to be much when I downloaded it, but once I got past the initial wrong impression of unicorns and magic sparkles, this is pretty much the most amazing 2d game I've ever played! Seriously, Braid (which I thought was pretty much the best of the bundles, at first) doesn't even come close to being as immersive and amazing as Aquaria :P I've been trying to pimp the game to friends but I've yet to convince anyone :(
This boss fight shows most of the game's best features: great soundtrack, pretty graphics/sfx, and the silenthill-ish parts where you are given a limited source of light to go searching for oogies to kill in total darkness.. aaaa!
I had to stop recording early in the fight, cos it took me awhile to find the goddamn roach-fish form in the dark while trying not to accidentally impale myself on the walls of doom-spikes at every corner.. it's really embarrassing.
Btw, if anyone knows how the hell do you use the Dumbo Ice Cream, please let me know.. I feel stupid, but my dumbo octopus won't eat it and me eating it doesn't really do anything, and thankfully Li does NOT sparkle :P
Sorry about not posting any painting vids, but I've not been using Open Canvas, and I really don't want to struggle with recording Photoshop.. honestly I suck at editing any video: all my gameplays are just plain fraps capture and Open Canvas has a complete playback feature. And now you know why there's no voice-over or special music or anything fancy in my uploads :P
bah I just realized the audio stream volume is too low.. just when I manage to sync it properly this time.. I'm really bad at making vids!
