This is the winning video for the National Skills Canada 2009 3D Animation competition by Jenna and Jade from BC. We had 12 hours in total to do this video with no audio. The topic was "Don't Spoil the View," and given to us just before we started.

Done in 3ds Max, Photoshop, and Windows Movie Maker

  • How did you make the mouth for this character?

  • @fritzzy1 We used a boolen combination of the sphere and a shape of the mouth that was subtracted from the mesh. We then modified the mouth shape while in the boolene to give the illusion of a cut-out mesh with the mouth.

Gosh, that sounds confusing, hope you can understand :3

  • You should have seen the second place winner!

  • I did, I saw all of the entries.

  • I LOVE the popcorn moment.

  • If you have complaints about who "should" have won, talk to the judges. Lugidog isn't to blame for winning. They did a great job, and you should acknowledge that too.

  • @Lugidog gave you a run for your money i hear.

  • Nice work girls! Your folks must be proud. ;-)

  • Congrats on the win, BC girls.

    -Blonde 2D winner.
