Hold on!!!! The train would go from Serbia into SRPSK REPUBLIC right?! The Serbian part of Bosnia.....? So it wouldnt be too bad over the border etc!!! Now from SRPSK Rep to the Federation the have trains quite freqently!!!
The vast majority of people -- Bosnians and Serbs -- are not at all polarized. That is a media generalization that has been perpetuated by people looking at the region from afar.
And yes, it is good news. Repairs and rebuilding start somewhere and a return to pre-war levels are not going to magically happen with one swift click of a television channel.
Just as in other places in the world, most people in Bosnia and Serbia do not share the prejudices of their political leaders
It's nice and all, but the reality is most people won't ride that train at all. The relations between Bosnian Muslims (the majority in Sarajevo) and Serbs are completely polarized with ethnic tensions on the rise.
Bosnia should concentrate on reforming their constitution, which looks hopeless as it is. The impact this will have on Serbian-Bosnjak relations is next to nothing. It would have been more practical to have a connection to the north and east where more Serbs live.

This is good news? The service is worse than it was before the war - worse trains, slower, and tracks screwed up!
