When is the robot supposed to take pictures and why?
Is that touch sensor the (only) way for it to take a picture/video?

After even action, Niko will take a photo of its surroundings. I'd rather stream a video to everyone but it kills the N900 battery within 20 minutes

What firmware are you using on the NXT? (i.e. is it standard or leJOS NXJ replacement?)

It's using the NXT firmware 1.28. I was considering using leJOS but it's easier and faster to use the N900 as the brain
