Thank you for this information. As someone who has had many experiences out-of-body, I am on a search to find my true nature and to find the right path I need to follow. While I've spent much time reading and praying, it seems that the time I spend being silent in meditation is the most beneficial, as I've learned that my consciousness seems to shift from my physical body to something beyond. And I've only seen but a very small glimpse of that which awaits beyond this material world.

I have been a fool, decieved by the senses. It is time to throw away all these ideas of me and mine, especially the idea of my body. May all know peace, may all have the good fortune of practicing kriya yog.

@HamsaYogi I understand what you say here, in many cases. However the reverse is also true. Often it is typical for the arrogant "easterner" to assume it is impossible for the "westerner" to ever master yoga or to become experts themselves. We are all taught by someone else; if the lineage and teaching is True then ones ethnicity or nationality is irrelevant.

@shenvisagar He was referring to the fact that India, or the East, is the source of yoga. The fact that Europeans and Americans come from the West to teach is somewhat ironic. Unfortunately in the West, the concept of Yoga is simplified, by the uniformed Occidental mind, to be little more than mere postures, breathing exercises and mantras. So the West should listen and learn from the ancients of the East and not set themselves up as experts, which is typical of western arrogance.

How can one be taught by Yogiraj personally for self certification? Is there a retreat of any sort that one can live at? I live in Pennsylvania.

Do u have to give up eating meat? Would vegetarian diet help?
vja1970 1 year ago
@vja1970 A vegetarian diet is very helpful, especially by avoiding beef. A diet that calms one's nervous system is the way to go. Fruits, vegetables and proteins from eggs, curd and some fish and fowl. Eat foods that are fresh and unprocessed whenever possible. But don't focus too much on the diet. Focus more on devotion for God instead. 3~HY
