Learn how to create cost resources in Microsoft Project 2010 to cost out your project with additional costs over and above resource work costs. You will also learn how to use the Budget field for cost resources.

  • You can setup a 'Material' type resource if you want to apply a standard rate per use. You can set the material units to Item with a cost of $1,000. You could also set it up as a 'Work' type resource and just use a 'per use' rate.

  • is there a way to make the cost of software same, say $1000 all over the project so whenever i assign cost of software resource to that activity, that activity will have $1000, without having to enter $1000 for the softwaere cost again for the other activities?
