Street Corner Rag - Bottleneck Slide Instrumental

I learned this song from the great Mike Dowling. You can find it on his excellent cd called "Blue Fandango".

This song is special in two ways.
First the guitar is tuned to open D but the song is played in the key of G. This means that the 5th fret is your homebase.
Secondly, it uses unusual behind the slide fretting. You'll see that I lift up the slide towards my face so that the first string is not fretted by the slide anymore and thus can be fretted by my index finger. Why didn't I think of that...

escellent(had a beer). just out of curiosity, how high id the action on that guitar? I play my old houndog, gibson mostly with a brass tube. I see you have a glass one and you can use yoour fingers real good. not that I could do it like you on any instrument, I can just barely punch out a few notes. my action is a little high--what gibson sent out. not that I'm going to change it but above the 5th fret I can scarcely do it.
