Thanks for the response. What size electric motor is the equivalent of an OS 1.60 2S? I have two small electrics myself (a Supercub (with brushless, lipo, ailerons), and a Super Sportster (48"). I'm amazed at how fast the Super Sportster is - electric motors really DO generate a lot of power. Just not crazy about short battery life (so I bring seven batteries with me!). Am now building a third electric - a 57" Extra 300S - designed for gas, but I'm converting it to electric.

i have the perry vp-30 pump with the bisson pitts muffler. i am a newbie when it comes to pumps so i cant help much there. it takes some trial and error and you have to lean both the low and high end to the point where i thought was too much but it was just right! good luck

i have the 74 yak in the red scheme, with the os 160 aswell, but i cannot get it to run right at all, wot set up have you got? pump? tuned pipe?
Can you elaborate on why you prefer it now that you've converted to electric?

certainly....no glow fuel mess, im converting everything i fly to electric right now. the main reason is that twice with this plane i was in a low hover and the engine quit on me for no apparent reason and required substantial rebuilding of the bottom of the airplane. i know that things still fail with electrics but i feel more comfortable with electrics myself. it really is a personal preference. the 1.60 had tons of power in this plane and i am about equal with the electric

Nice flying, nice plane. Good song, too, though I'd rather hear the plane engine. And the OS 1.60 looks like it gives plenty of power - cool! I have one, no plane for it yet. Good to see it can haul a 74" like this. Have you heard of a 1.60 used in larger planes? I was going to put an OS BSG-1 3500 into my new 78" Texas Hurricane, but decided to go 50cc gas instead.

i know it will fly a bigger plane easily it depends on what performance you want to get. i converted this plane to electric now and love it way more!! thanks for the comments
