Remember, Bush's first term for his war on a noun was "Crusade" - & most Central/South American death-squads were/are whole-heartedly Christian Fundamentalist. Abortion Clinics don't have metal-detectors & bomb-sniffing dogs just for fun. Falwell blamed 911 on American unbelievers. Robertson advocated murder.
"God is love" - NOT.

One part of the bible story you left out was that the angels went out to find just one good person in Sodom & Gamora and did not, then destroyed the cities. It is just a story anyway.

Jesus was the Che Guevara of the Jews is really that simple . Alah is Fidel Castro . Moses was Bridge Engineer but fail to save the few Jews in New Orleans. Well he also fail in 1942 it was a bunch of uncircumcise russians that saved the Jews not Moses.

The contention is that gay people are more politically acceptable than trans people, and that the motion will be shot down if the trans langauge is included, but can be 'salvaged' if they give gays their rights now and come back for trannies in ten years. As usual, i'm much more interested in human rights than political implications, and i feel like rights should be an all or nothing proposition, but doubly so since i happen to be among the humans waiting for rights in this instance.

haretz2, a former YT ally and subscriber showed me this several months ago. We 'parted' on uglyish terms because he thinks islam is pure evil, and i won't accept that. Islam is about peace and reverence toward god, and no matter how many muslims pervert those ideals; the enemy is intollerence whether it be muslims, zionists, atheists, racists, ect ect ect, no one group of humans can be the personification of all human wickedness.
I think you missed half the sodom and gamorah story. After abraham searched, Not one righteous person was found in all of sodom and gamorah. The Intended point of the story is that the christian god DOES see reason and whats more, was willing to prove to his subjects that he did.

I skipped that part of the story, and i probably shouldn't have. I suppose i see that portion as affirmation that the god of that story doesn't really love everyone he created; that he couldn't see good in a single person in those cities is a testament to the fact that he doesn't understand his own people. Good to hear from you by the way; i miss your insight, p dot.

What a fascinating conversation thread you had going! Re: Islam - I tried to read the Quran. I was put off by one phrase repeated throughout. "Show no mercy."

I'll admit, the qu'ran is MUCH harder to read than the bible, especially for a non believer, and just about every verse begins and ends with 'surely god is great' or something to that effect. I have to continuously remind myself that it's meant to be a song and it's in another langauge, but there is still wisdom to be found in it, and whether or not it's a fun read, if we fear what we don't understand, we must understand to defeat our fears.
