  • very interesting to hear van lommel. i like his well considered and level-headed delivery. the interviewer, on the other hand, is very disappointing.

  • Part 2

You see the concept of war and hatred as a giant cancer that's attacking the whole machine that should be united.

  • Part 1

I also have this picture of God being a company of consciousness and every human possesses a share of this consciousness. It is up to us how we invest that share, when we hurt others, we are damaging a part of ourselves in this next life, or may be cutting ourselves off to be discarded.

In the current life, we perceive through one of many disjointed consciousnesses, but afterwards they are united.

  • This is not the only phenomenon that seems to defy convention, also things like the theory of relativity where the passage of time changes depending upon velocity and gravitational field strength, or what happens at the centre of a black hole. You'd assume that time was constant whatever you did.

  • Given the assumption of a purely natural universe, it is difficult to explain consciousness. It is easier to explain a 650nm wavelength of light stimulating a certain receptor cell in the eye and triggering parts of the brain than to explain why it looks 'red'.

It is hard to explain though why if consciousness is immortal it should switch off during sleep.

  • @fctchk tincoster is right you SHOULD win a nobel prize, but only just for that comment u made

I love it when imbeciles take pot shots at superior intellects...go back to your cavehead dimwit.

The mind is seperate from the brain and there is most certainly rebirth. However none of these things have anything to do with a creator god. This is mere human ignorance. I recommend you to explore Theravada Buddhism, the one and only descriptor of true reality.
