Final video for Digital Media Production class. The concept of this recut is to make a trailer for a movie called Star Trek The Motion Picture as if it were a new movie without the legacy of previous franchise concepts. The impetus behind this idea was the Tron Modern Trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp2gGqgn3Fw

  • Is a nice trailer, but I wasn't amused by the choice of music which has been overused at youtube like a million times.

  • @priestpega Ok, that may be, but it is my first attempt at using Premiere Pro in a class I had thought I wouldn't pass based on my unfamiliarity with that program. I promise to and endeavor to produce my own music for future projects such as this even though I'm not a musician. ;)

  • i dont normally write many comments but your work on this is truly amazing indeed, i was very impressed, you should get a job making trailers ,you did an amazing job on this, definitely going in my favourites , thank you =]

  • @garysm2 Thanks and you're welcome. At first when I started making it I wasn't too sure what to do, but the more I got into it the more fun it was. I like it except for that last voiceover by Kirk. A little too loud. But the thing about it is at that point in the song if I turned the volume down any lower it would have been lost in the music. So I tried to finess it a little by softening the beginning and end, but it's still too loud. Or maybe I should have softened the music? Le sigh...

  • Very nice work.

  • @treksf Thanks! It was pretty fun to do. I think I might do more for my own purposes. Maybe post them if I get permission from Paramount or Roddenberry Productions.

  • Well done. To many more years of ST.

  • heya well in my opinion the kirk voice over part sounded just fine to me, id have never thought there was a problem with it, but i guess everyone's there own worst critic lol, but i do think your video should seriously have way more views than it does, you truly did a great job on this the editing and choice of music was brilliant , i really hope you decide to do more of these cause you certainly have a talent indeed. =]

  • Awesome! Great Work! Easily my favorite of the first six Trek films!
