Via Business Insider: "As the war over income inequality wages on, super-rich Seattle entrepreneur Nick Hanauer has been raising the hackles of his fellow 1-percenters, espousing the contrarian argument that rich people don't actually create jobs.
The position is controversial — so much so that TED is refusing to post a talk that Hanauer gave on the subject. National Journal reports today that TED officials decided not to put Hanauer's March 1 speech up online after deeming his remarks "too politically controversial" for the site...".* Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur discuss on The Young Turks.

TED, why should we be suppressing important and accurate political ideas anyway? That makes you no better than the US Government's suppressive tactics on a range of subjects.

why does Kunggreen have negative votes...? if you take the + view of Kungreen, and the - view of lifehole1, and find an equilibrium between the two perspectives, that's where I think most americans should be.

Besides, how is it even "political" that people lives are suffering because of the income disparity. That's beyond politics, it's just the right thing to do to have a fair society.

I think the reason TED didn't run it was because of the use of ambiguous terms. "Rich people" is ambiguous. Who exactly are these people? It's very confusing. Most of us think of people driving lamborghinis etc., but these are outliers (even in the tax bracket of people earning 300k + a year)

I think job creation is irrelevant to most (not none but most) of this discussion. We should ask if progressive taxes are moral and what minimum amount citizens should pay for services by the gov.
