I'm extremely happy! Today I've managed to get the first series of clips on YouTube. You know, I'm a YouTube watcher from the start (feb 2005), I discovered YouTube long before it was well known as nowadays. And certainly in my country the Netherlands, the hype started much later. From the beginning I wanted to share my DVD's on YouTube. Ever since I was looking for software to convert DVD into Mpeg-4 files. It was frustrated! I couldn't find anything right which was working well and simple to handle. My problem was also that I haven't had any help from anyone! But until last week, I discovered a fitting freeware program. And with much blood, sweat and tears I finally get this result!

Now my first series is about a concert from the Louis Armstrong All Stars.
It was located in: La Bussola-Focette in Italy. The concert was on thursday, may 7 th 1959.

I wanted to start with some clips that until now hasn't been put on YouTube.!
Second number from the All Stars, as always: Back Home Again in Indiana in Ab!

This first series is featuring two of my biggest idols in Jazz.
Louis Armstrong and Trummy Young.
Of course Louis Armstrong! I'm afraid I can't tell you anymore news about him. And then Trummy Young whom I've seen just once in person. An experience I will never forget! I could write a lot more about Trummy. But not all at once!

  • Donna Lee huh?

  • 1959?

  • i 3rd!

  • @Spottedpool42 I second your opinion, Indiana is a great state to live in. It is big enough to get noticed yet small enough that one still feels like a citizen despite the Federal fist.

  • Jim Nabors eat your heart out!

  • Who was this pianist?

  • Thank you. Jay Cummings, great Stan Kenton drummer came from Indiana.

Worked awhile in Atlantic City, Casinos. All cement. Loved my back yard, hammock and trees - missed home.. Nice guy!!

  • man this song makes me realize how much i love this great state indiana is. lived here all my life and i love it here :)

  • @levanyzzuf ME, i have to leave Indiana for college, all the way to New Mexico. I almost broke down in tears when I went to my brother's Elementary school choral concert and they sung this song. I will miss it forever, nowhere is like my hometown of Noblesville.

  • When I was little, my father had the good fortune to accompany Louis at a Chicago concert. Dad is a pianist. At the end of the set, Louis said to my father, "Kid, You've GOT it!" Treasured words. How much better does it get than having your idol tell you how great YOU are?
