Playing along to a backing track version of the 1979's hit by The Knack "My Sharona" on my Alembic Essence bass guitar.

ABOUT THE SONG
Although the main riff of "My Sharona" was reportedly written by The Knack's Guitarist Berton Averre long before he joined the band, the song is credited both to Berton Averre and to vocalist and guitarist Doug Fieger.

Doug Fieger had met Sharona Alperin and he was inspired by the girl, but after months of writing songs about her, he noticed that whenever he thought about her, he would think of Averre's riff.

The song was produced by Mike Chapman and was released on June 1979 off the first LP of the band, named "Get The Knack". "My Sharona", the debut song of the band, reached the first position of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and it was later certified gold by the RIAA. In 1994, the hit reentered the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking #91 when it was released as a single from the "Reality Bites" soundtrack album.

Prescott Niles, bassist of The Knack, recorded the bass part of the song.
