Time lapse video on the entire carbon fibering process of my Comet FSM Mini. Entire process took me around 18 hours.
I got my carbon fiber cloth, epoxy, and resin from a local fibre glassing store called FGI (Australian). It all came out to be around 70aud.

Yes I'm wearing socks and slippers in the video. So what? I'm in my own backyard. Commenting on what people wear just proves how much of a tool you are. Go back to riding your Pennys. This video is not for you.

  • LOL...Im back again...First, sorry for bothering you so much. Now to my questions. 1. Why didn't you sand off all of the graphic? 2. I saw a video on a custom carbon fiber-ed fsm and they bondo (like some filler stuff) the those speed cut outs or what ever they're called( like where the nose/tail meets the actual board theres those cut out parts) and my last is, have you curbed the board yet? If so did the carbon fiber start to peel?

  • @IamTeHe 1. I the graphic was impregnated into the wood. I was only sanding off the clear coat layer to get to the wood so that the epoxy bonds better with the board. 2. I think ur talking about the wheel wells. I was initially not planning on CFing that section and instead, just cut the cloth off showing the wheel wells, but after laying down the CF, i realized it looked good and decided to keep it. 3. I've curbed the board many times and have also done a lot of flip tricks. No delam at all

  • @effghan Hey there, I was just wondering what all the advantages are to adding a layer of carbon fiber to the bottom of a board. Does it make it stronger? And would you recommend I do this to a normal skateboard instead of a longboard?

    Awesome video by the way!

  • @MechWarrior324 Hi. The advantage of the carbon fibre is to make it stronger and stiffer. Because of the longer wheelbase and also where the feet are placed on a longboard, the board tends to flex a bit compared to a regular skateboard. The main reason why i CF my board was because I've had 3 friends that snapped their comet boards from doing tricks. I wouldn't recommend CFing a regular skateboard because it does make your board heavier. You want a light board for doing flip tricks and stuff.

  • :l i think you shouldnt have had wetsanded it... i think the resin was shiny and nice??.... ehh still debating to carbon fibre "Wrap" a longboard or make a foamcore...

  • @effghan Thanks man, I might not add carbon fiber to my board then. But I am going to be building a longboard one of these days, and I think I might go ahead and add carbon fiber to it, since I won't be using it for tricks.

  • sock with flip flops??? for real

  • @FilipinoyBoi23 I'm sure you can find that out yourself.

  • @effghan do u know how much the carbon fiber and resins is online?

  • @FilipinoyBoi23 200 pounds is fine.
