One of the greatest rock movies of all time...based on the life of Tim The Ripper Owens from Priest and how he was in a tribute band based on Priest and they found him and called him in to replace Rob Halford. Tim hates the movie and Priest didnt want to be involved so Hollywood just did it their way and made it a "based" on a true story...doesnt mean I dont love it any less...except for the crappy ending...haha! \m/\m/

@80smetalking3, you are correct in that it was Metejavic from Steelheart, but the story was mostly base on Judas priest, AC/DC, and a few other bands of the 80's Heavy metal scene... The sounds are incredible though.... And the band included Zakk Wylde, Jeff Pilson (Dokken), and Jason Bohnam....

SPOILERS INCLUDED.you guys have it wrong.it's a cool movie up until the end. at he end he screws up and becomes an alternative singer. I mean WTF. he was the lead singer of one of the world's biggest metal bands and then he cut his hair and became a grungie? no way,totally unrealistic and lame

Amazing songs though and really good movie until the end.

@barb30041 Rock on Barbara!! \m/ Living in Pgh Pa., I saw it 3 times at the theaters, twice at a giant Loew's w/killer sound/picture, mebbe 15 times on dvd, You're ahead of me!! lol It was cool seeing roads I drove on back then in the 'Burgh. went w/two babes and had a long leather jacket on w/a hair metal/mullet wig on!! we laughed our asses off, it looked real, being brown and matching my goatee. people were staring constantly that eve. diff pic on the profile, though >;-)

this movie is NOT based on steelheart... they brought in the vox of steelheart, mike metejavic to overdub the lead vocals because they were WAY over marky marks head! this version is the dragon version... the song was done by steelheart. but it is different
