Have you got a slow Windows 7 computer? Want to speed it up? Well, here are 10 easy tips that will help you speed up your computer. The only downside in this tutorial is that if you to make your computer attractive as well as fast, you might as well not watch this video. Enjoy the tutorial!

1. To open visual effects click on the Start button in the bottom-left of the Taskbar. In the search field, type "adjust performance." Alternately, you can click on the Start button then right-click My Computer. Select Properties at the bottom of the new menu followed by Advanced System Settings. Finally, click on the Settings button under Performance.
2. Within the Visual Effects window, you will see all the effects Windows 7 has. To make your system run faster, click Adjust for best performance followed by OK.

3. Your system will now look plain and simple, but it should run smoother and faster. From the Performance Options menu at the bottom of the screen, select any specific effects you would like to use and then hit OK.

Mahalo's Windows expert Sean Hewitt shows you how to speed up your PC by defragmenting the hard drive.

What Is a Disk Defragmenter?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The disk defragmenter keeps your hard drive running efficiently by rearranging the files on your drive so it will take less time to find items you are searching for.
It is essentially the same as organizing clothes in a closet instead of throwing them on the floor.

Disk Clean-Up
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Perform a disk clean-up by opening the Start menu then clicking on Computer. Next, right-click on the Hard Drive then select Properties and choose Disk Cleanup. Select items you want to delete and press OK to erase the files from your hard drive.

Open the Disk Defragmenter
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To open the disk defragmenter, click the Start menu then Computer. Next, right click on the Hard Drive and select Properties. Choose the Tools tab and click the Defragment now button.
From here you can schedule routine defragmenting by clicking the Configure schedule button. Set it to defragment daily, weekly or monthly.

Defragment
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To defragment your drive immediately, select the drive you want to defragment and click the Defragment disk button.

Defragmenting takes time, so be sure not to use your computer during the process or turn off your computer before the process is complete. Turning off the computer before it's finished could damage the hard drive.

peeding up Your PC with Startup Management
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Click on the click on the
Start button in the bottom-left of the Taskbar. Type "msconfig" into the search engine then click Enter.
2. In System Configuration, click the Startup tab. This lists all of the programs that automatically start with Windows 7 every time you initialize your system. You can choose to Enable or Disable all items by clicking on the corresponding buttons on the bottom right of the window.

3. To be more specific, select items you do or don't want to start with your Windows system. On the left is a description of each item, followed by where they launch from under the Command and Location columns. Uncheck any item that you do not want or need.

4. Click OK at the bottom when you have modified your startup items. A window will appear informing you will need to restart your computer for the changes to be implemented. You can choose to Restart (immediately) or Exit Without Restart (to restart later).
