@oddballsok You can come back and say alot of it is newsreel and that is partly ture, but alot of it is'nt, also this has more german tanks and armor then any other movie ever made after the war.........

@oddballsok Their acting and talking parts might not be as good as real actors, but that is not what makes this film great, the fighting scenes in it are like newsreel footage and as good as in any movie today.

@oddballsok When you gone through what these lads have experienced, they don't need to be convincing as actors because they really fought there at Arnhem.Actors need to be convincing not professional soldiers let alone members of the 1st British airborne. Something tells me you probably never served in the military.

I just don't understand this:
From professional actors (Bridge too Far movie 1976) it is criticized that they can't reenact war scenes realistically. (according to verterans: that film is Sh*t).
And now we have this bunch of professional soldiers, moreover, soldier survivors who experienced the actual battle, no more than a year later, and they act as unconvincingly as schoolgraduates.
