If you're open-minded about guitars, willing enough to abandon the warm, clean, naturally provided benefits of wood, indulge yourself in some Normandy Guitar Aluminum Archtop action. We talk to Normandy founder Jim Normandy about his shining to metal guitars in terms of both construction and execution as the Normandy booth also featured some pretty sick runs that'll make your ears bleed in a good way. I was just in his shop today in Salem, Oregon. Nicest shop owner I ever met. But I didn't know he actually owned the company! I tried the bass they make. Its a good sound, but its really for metal, goth, ect. Slapping and funk doesn't sound good from them. Aside from that, their great instruments. As for the weight, yeah they're about average, but the bass was actually balanced well so no head-dropping when I let go of the neck.
