  • oh yeah. years later, i remember a funny story from this show...he didn't actually play this song during his set, but my friend brandon wrote an "encore set list" for when he would eventually come out and play a few more songs. he came out, picked it up and looked at it for a couple seconds and started playing. it was pretty awesome.

also, the loudest, most out of key singing is most likely me. sorry.

  • most bands sound different live cuz the edit the crap outa their voice on the records. as you can tell this is not the case with the mountain goats^^

  • you don't get enough credit for the title.

    brilliant!!

  • he didnt play that last night when he returned to the black cat. it was still the best concert ive ever been to

  • I like this song! Too bad the crowd is really bad at singing along... like... really...

  • Anyone know what John Darnielle's guitar is? I love it!

    Awesome performance

  • One of my all time favorite Mountain Goats songs. Love it.

  • Oh Wow!! I used to sneak the owner of the Black Cat into the 9:30 Club back when he was 13 and I was 19. He was in a band then! Still wonder about how he and his Dad are doing. Hey Dante!! Bobby Ferrando! I was head cook at Food For Thought at Dupont Circle (pre Dante's and pre Black Cat!- hell the 9:30 club was still on F st NW DC), Well HI from Leeeeah, 1978-82
