Mostly news on this clip, including a school integration piece, but some commercials.
This video might spark a debate. If you are going to post, please do us all a favor and try to keep it civil. Im really fed up with all the name calling and other BS underneath some of these Youtube videos.
I was recycling some old 3/4" tapes and came across this time capsule. I think it was intented to be a commercial transcript. It's from KABC in 1980. Dont sue me please, its just here for memories. If anybody who owns any of this stuff objects, dont bother You tube, Ill take it down.
oh wow... that was my Principal when i went to Hoover St Elementary School back in 1982

I like what the Principal said... The kids are here to learn...they need more learning & not less...Plus, the Hispanic Asian kids need to learn ENGLISH First, so they can do the work & live here... I was part of this program in Palm Springs... I got shipped to the mostly black kid school & them to ours... I had to take the bus to the other side of town.
Today schools teach less & English is a 2nd lanuage. :O( Live here in the US, learn the English to be apart of the country! English 1st

@nosajj12345 He and another late, great LA TV news icon, Hal Fishman, were the inspirations for Kent Brockman from "The Simpsons".

That Nell Carter clip is cool. It's weird seeing her weight fluctuate so quickly between this and Gimme a Break.

I think I vaguely remember that Jerry Dunphy was shot in the early 80s, when I was very young.
This is when the only area code was 213 in L.A. I love my hometown. I LOVE L.A.!

Ah the late jJerry Dunphy, the "Siver Fox."
damn... seeing him and hearing him again after all these years makes me feel like I'm in grade school watching TV while doing my homework. I was one of those wierd kids who like watching the news. LOL
