I love all Webern, but honestly, he really found himself in the serial compositions. In those you really see his thinking and method. It is enough to say that HIS understanding of serialism influenced nearly the half of moderists that were NOT influenced by Stravinsky lol. His post-romantic works just seem a little unfocused and bland. It is pretty, but nothing that will stay with me for years. I can see why his post-romantic works were discarded from his major output.
